Story
This year, i’m undertaking the Blue Mountains Gutsy Challenge and trekking 15km along the Grand Clifftop Walk to raise awareness and vital funds for Gastro-Intestinal (GI) cancer research.
Having experienced the relatively rapid death of my Dad from wide-spread metastatic cancer when I was a teenager gave me first-hand experience of cancer’s impact on individuals, families, and the wider community, gave me the curiosity to want to understand how to make the experience less painful.
As a psycho-oncologist, my goal is to help people live as well as they possibly can for their remaining lives, something I feel passionate about.
Over 37,000 Australians are diagnosed with a GI cancer each year. Clinical trials research is essential to improving treatment options and outcomes for GI cancer patients. It is only through the valuable support of our community that we can achieve change.

Gastro-Intestinal (GI) cancer is the most common form of cancer claiming a devastating 51 lives each day. At the GI Cancer Institute, our vision is to create a world free from GI cancers. It is thanks to the support of the community that we are able to fund vital clinical trials research to improve quality of life and treatment options for GI cancer patients.
